Jim and Lois Carney ... Own and Operate 3 farms in Queensland, commercially growing avocados, sugar cane, peanuts, corn and cattle. Avocado Ridge established in 2004 with 9,500 avocado trees and HillCrest orchards located in the Childers area of Bundaberg Shire where we are now planting 8,000 avocado trees with over 100 acres of sugar cane on the combined 379 acres. Our newest endeavour Summit Orchard is in Kumbia, near Bunya Mountains with 337 acres where we will be planting late cropping avocados, and grow peanuts, corn and beef cattle. Our nearby packing shed in Childers (SuperPak), is operated with our son Eric and packs for 20 avocado and stone fruit growers www.superpak.net.au. We have been growing avocados and other fruits since 1984 and also operate a agribusiness service to other growers www.primeorchards.com.au. |
